If you’re anywhere around Southern Australia (VIC, NSW, TAS) and you’re not reading this I hope your pal is internet savvy enough to link you the following information, and if you’re anywhere up top of Aus, I feel deeply sorry for you.

According to The Bureau of Meteorology “A fast, strong Coronal Mass Ejection (CME) is due to hit Earth.” What does that mean though? It means that from the time you finish reading this, there’s an extremely high chance of you seeing bright vibrant colorful waves of the Aurora Australis in your section of sky up until tonight.

If you’d like an idea of what to expect have a look at some of the stunning images Eastern Victoria photographer, Caitlin Gordon captured from her farm early yesterday morning; viewable in the gallery above. The images alone should be enough to make you sleep outside and stare at the stars all night. This kind of thing doesn’t happen very often, so it’s definitely worth taking a look at.
