A Melbourne man will be charged with reckless driving offences after he was caught speeding 50 kilometres over the limit. According to Victoria Police, the man claimed he just wanted to get his hamburgers home before they went cold.

The 35-year-old from the northern suburb of Fawkner was seen travelling 123kph in a 70kph zone before 12 last night; after being tested for drink driving, he returned a positive breath test and has since had his licence suspended. His car was towed from the scene.

Police are yet to confirm where the burgers were purchased from, so it is unclear whether or not the driver has taken calculated risk. At this point we can only assume that these were indeed some tasty, tasty burgers.
