Community service announcement: through what must be some kind of black magic, Skyscanner are currently offering Qantas flights from Australia to LA for around $600 return. Yep—return.
We’ve checked a few dates and looks like most of the bargains can be found through Oct/Nov ’15 and Jan/Feb ’16. Although prices vary depending on date selection, there are fares going for as low as $560 return. That puts the price around a thousand bucks cheaper than a standard fare.
Forget the cheap holiday to Bali, this makes a 10 day trip to LA seriously do-able. Beg, borrow, maybe don’t steal, but do whatever it takes to act fast. This has to be some sort of glitch that can’t last long.

UPDATE: We’ve reached out to Qantas for a statement and a spokesperson has provided the following information.
“There was a glitch that impacted third party USA-based online booking systems this morning, as we made some fare changes effective 1 July for travel originating in Australia.
These mistake fares were incorrectly offered and have been removed from sale.
The glitch was fixed at 11.30am AEST and we’re currently following up affected bookings.”
No word yet as to what that means for those who managed to snag a cheap flight.
