I know we’re not supposed to talk about fight club, but I think you can cut me some slack. The author behind Fight Club, Chuck Palahniuk, has spilled details on a graphic novel series that will be the sequel to the 1996 book version and of course the popular film version that stars Brad Pitt and Edward Norton.

Besides the change in the format, the story will also shift it’s approach to narration. As Palahniuk tells Hustler:

“The sequel will be told from the– at first– submerged perspective of Tyler Durden as he observes the day-to-day tedium of the narrator’s life.  Because 20th Century-Fox created the convention of calling the protagonist Jack, I’m calling him Cornelius.  He’s living a compromised life with a failing marriage, unsure about his passion for his wife.  The typical midlife bullshit.  Likewise, Marla is unsatisfied and dreams of accessing the wild man she’d once fallen in love with.  She tampers with the small pharmacy of drugs that her husband needs to suppress Tyler, and– go figure– Tyler reemerges to terrorize their lives.”

Despite the sequel still being a work in progress, an estimated release date has been set for 2015. Until then we resume speculating about whether or not this follow-up is bound for the big screen (and whether Edward Norton, Brad Pitt and Helena Bonham Carter would be up for reprising their roles.)
