Everything about Kim Dotcom is larger than life. Not only is he big in physical stature, he lives large and is also currently the centre of the biggest copyright lawsuit we’ve possibly ever witnessed. More than a year into his house arrest in New Zealand, the crew from VICE manage to score some intimate time with the Megaupload founder and find out he’s actually a real chill, nice guy.

Host Tim Pool sits down with the tech wizard as he talks about the implications of his case on the US government, internet privacy and the current NSA controversies – he’s even lucky enough to drop a verse on the big guy’s EDM album and take a cruise on his segue. House arrest seems to be putting life into perspective for Dotcom though, with the emphasis moving from living a baller life to a family life – given that his ‘house arrest’ takes part in a mansion and property bigger than all my previous houses put together.

But as Tim observes, “This wasn’t the comic book villain that the government made him out to be, but a genuine businessman who was pushed to start standing up for people’s rights on the internet.”
