The era of the sequel started gaining momentum even before The Fast And The Furious came into being and it doesn’t look like it’s going to slow down anytime soon. Films like Joe Dirt seem completely untenable as a franchise and yet here we are with Joe Dirt 2: Beautiful Loser. The movie seems to borrow from the magic of The Wizard of Oz as Dirt is taken back to 1965 via natural disaster and has to do something to get somewhere and probably find himself while looking for something else. The cameos look to be the highlights here with Christopher Walken reprising his original role and Patrick Warburton joining in on the self-aware comedy that’s only really funny because it acknowledges how absurd the premise of a Joe Dirt sequel is. Seriously, we feel like we’ve gotten everything we’re going to get out of this film by just watching the trailer so give in to temptation and check it out above.
