The Venice Biennale is set to return in 2015. And, since its foundation in 1895, it has become one of the world’s most prestigious art events, where countries strive to represent themselves with the cream of their artistic crops. A scene perfectly suited to self-appointed hip-hop deity Kanye West, no?

Well someone has started a Change.org petition entitled ‘APPOINT KANYE WEST TO CURATE THE 2015 VENICE ART BIENNALE’, and the hashtag #BiennalYe is working its way around Twitter.

According to the petition:

West has a longstanding history of deep and sincere engagement with art […] He photoblogged the entirety of Urs Fischer’s 2009 New Museum exhibition.

It has to be said though that Yeezy’s foray into the art world has been growing, and that he could bring some much needed steez to the long-running institution event.

So what happens if the seemingly arbitrary target of 2000 is reached, and by some crazy chain of events Yeezy does indeed become curator?

I’m guessing something along the lines of this:

I’M REALLY HAPPY FOR YOU, IMMA LET YOU FINISH, BUT AI WEIWEI HAD SOME OF THE BEST MODERN SCULPTURES OF ALL TIME. OF ALL TIME!
