Crown Casino is usually the location of choice for hen’s nights and the Logies, not a venue for an international e-sport tournaments. Despite that fact, Crown Melbourne have announced that on October 10, they will be hosting a Counter Strike Global Offensive with a prize pool worth $55,555.

The event is held by the international gaming organisation ESL, who recently held the biggest CS:GO tournamet in history in Cologne, Germany.

The tournament will be open to any teams from Australia and New Zealand. But there’s a catch, they have to beat two of the world’s top Counter Strike teams, North America’s Cloud9 and Poland’s Virtus.Pro. There is definitely a demand for live e-sports events here Down Under, so it will be interesting to see how the event goes for Crown.

Tickets are available from August 31.
