Following roles as Lucy and Black Widow, the sultry voiced actress has signed on to lead the pack in the DreamWorks’ upcoming live-action anime adaptation Ghost in the Shell. The Masamune Shirow–penned manga series takes us to 2029 where special squads are enlisted to combat hackers controlling citizens who have developed cybernetic parts in the brain. A bizarre notion but tame compared to the story of Lucy.

With director Rupert Sanders (Snow White and the Huntsman) at the helm and a reported $10 million cheque for Johansson, whenever this techie blockbuster hits theatres it’s bound to fill seats.
