Professional skateboarder Bob Burnquist has a very impressive skate CV. He once base jumped off his board into the grand canyon, leapt from a helicopter into his backyard mega skate ramp, and has featured in the popular Tony Hawk Pro Skater games, just to name a few.

Noticing this ‘gnar’ was Visit California, who recruited Burnquist to take on this Lake Tahoe project as part of its “Dream Big” campaign. It wasn’t easy. Master ramp builder Jeff King and his team spent 300 man hours and used 1,250 screws to create the 7,300-pound ramp.

It should be noted that the skate ramp on the water thing was done three years ago by Volcom. But hey, issues regarding originality aside, the sight of Burnquist skating the mini-ramp on the crystal clear waters of Lake Tahoe is pretty spectacular.
