The track describes a resolute person who gently lays down how it’s going to be. The beat is percussive and playful and the vocals warmly coalesce into the beat. We wanted to make a track that was light on the ear without losing character and punch.

Honesty, moving forward and self-worth. The song is about taking back control. We tried to make the beat feel like it’s out of control with the instrumentation while holding it together with a steady driving drum/bass line.

This is Han’s favourite track on the EP. This track basically wrote itself while jamming together, it happened organically and felt so natural to write. That’s the reason the track is short. We didn’t want to stretch it out and change the structure at all after we got down the first version. We are super into vocal layering and how the voice can be used as a structural element in the beat. It’s a track about reassuring yourself that “you got this” *insert strong arm emoji*

‘Mess’ was the first track we started writing for this EP. It’s about making bad decisions and owning them. We had a love-hate relationship with this tune and we had to leave it alone for a few months to get a fresh perspective. In the end this was the last song we finished so it was there in the background for the whole process.

The track is about optimism coming from a place of innocence that ends up taking a bad turn later. Coming to realise that ok yeah wow you’re actually shit.
