It’s a bird… it’s a plane… No – it’s a green Aphex Twin–branded blimp flying high over East London’s Oval Space.
We can only hope that the sight of the blimp sporting the Apex Twin logo and the numbers “2014” means that Richard D. James is about to make his long-awaited return.
A new record from the Cornish genius would mark his first full-length album since 2001’s Drukqs. The timing of the blimp is interesting given the re-release of his Caustic Window project only a few months ago through an innovative Kickstarter campaign.
The Aphex Twin logo has also appeared on the sidewalk outside New York’s Radio City Music Hall. The blimp sighting has left some wondering whether a new Aphex Twin project could be on the horizon.
For now, let’s watch the skies and keep our fingers crossed.
