As the story goes, Big Boi was originally slated to make an appearance on Frank Ocean’s Channel Orange album until his ex-partner in rhyme, André 3000, put the kibosh on the whole thing. Whilst André kept his spot on the record, Big Boi was left out, supposedly because “Dre didn’t want an Outkast Record Coming out on anybody else LP”. These days the two Atlanta rappers seem to break down at even the mention of “reunion” and “Outkast” in the same sentence.

Six months on however, it looks like the world will finally be privy to a version of Frank Ocean’s “Pink Matter” featuring the complete Outkast lineup. Taking to his Tumblr over the weekend, Big Boi shared a photo of his freshly penned verse for Frank’s track along with the caption, “Dropping a verse on this Frank Ocean ‘Pink Matter’ ”, so it seems that fans are in luck. Big Boi’s representatives have since confirmed that the track will surface sometime next week, marking the first Outkast appearance in almost six years. Yipee!

In addition to “Pink Matter”, Big Boi also revealed that he’ll be making appearances on an updated version of T.I. and André’s “Sorry”. So gear up for not one, but two new Outkast collaborations. Just don’t let them hear you say the ‘r’ word.
