It came to light recently via Bret Easton Ellis‘s twitter that the author had written the script for the ‘American Psycho‘ inspired spoof promo video for Kanye West‘s track ‘New Slaves.’ It features a poorly-advised Scott Disick playing the murderous Patrick Bateman character. No doubt you’ve watched that no-talent train wreck already. Now, Ellis has revealed to MTV News more information about how this kinda weird partnerships came about.

“I wrote it. Kanye came to me and asked me to write it so I wrote the promo. I just got a text one day. It said, ‘It’s Kanye, do you have time to rap?’ And then suddenly my phone rang and someone said, ‘Kanye got your number and he wants you to write this promo for Yeezus,‘” Ellis said. “And so we went back and forth on it and he wanted it done, like, that day. So I wrote it very quickly and they shot it two or three days later.”

It’s common knowledge that Ellis has always wanted Disick for an ‘American Psycho’ movie remake. “I had tweeted many times about Scott Disick and ‘American Psycho’ and we had gone back and forth, and so it all kind of just came together very, very quickly,” Ellis told them. “And it was fun.”

Apparently this isn’t the end of the West-Ellis team either. “Kanye and I have been meeting about writing a script for him and so that’s a project that’s kind of in the works.” I wonder if it will be a rehash of Kanye’s apparent 2008 HBO pilot that was never picked up?
