In this interesting and kinda funny article by Businessweek, ‘Jay-Z Is Right: Most Rappers Are Lying About Their Money,’ the site decided to take Jay-Z’s lyrics from the new Magna Carter Holy Grail track Versus as a challenge. After rapping the line, “The truth in my verses, versus, your metaphors about what your net worth is,” they went and researched assorted rappers’ net worths and yearly incomes to see if they are actually telling tall tales – with an infographic of alleged wealth to actual wealth backed up with data from Forbes.

It goes on to compare rappers ranging from Pitbull to 50 Cent, taking their money-boasting lyrics and comparing it to income from that same year. Lil Wayne‘s 2011 song Ballin says “Last year I made a hundred million dollars flat” although he only actually made $20 million in 2010. Lolz. Click through to the article to see how other the other lyrics vs reality stack up.Untitled-1
