Audi are launching the new A3 tonight in the US, and to cover all bases (well, at least the east and west coasts) they’re sponsoring live performances from both M.I.A. and Janelle Monáe in New York and LA respectively.

While it might come as a shock to most of Audi-driving, conservative America that M.I.A. isn’t in Guantanamo after her infamous bird flip at the 2012 Super Bowl half-time show (FYI the sporting conglomerate recently increased their desired figure from the original $1.5 million to last month’s 15.1 million based on the incident’s perceived value of exposure) it appears that Audi are under no illusions of the English/Sri Lankan superstar’s promotional power.

At the end of each performer’s one-hour set, the pair will perform two unreleased collaborative duets… together… but not. (!?!)

Both M.I.A. and Monaé will be streamed into each other’s shows via live-action hologram. The event beckons as either a ground-breaking, never-before-seen 3D bi-coastal success or a major flop when M.I.A breaks out into a close-eyed shimmy straight through Monaé.

The real question on everyone’s mind… Will 2pac be resurrected – again – on April 20?
