We already think Paul Birchard, aka Hudson Mohawke’s dad, is a bit of a lord (see: this prime Proud Dad moment). But nothing would have prepared us for just how awesome he is. Thanks to the internet, nothing ever really dies and we’ve found this incredible evidence of Paul’s own music-making past. Written and recorded in 1986 for the Glasgow Diamonds American Football team, ‘Diamonds Rap (We Are The Diamonds)’ is pure ‘80s gold. It’s lycra, it’s air-saxophone, it’s athletes “rapping” and a lot of questionable up-skirt action. So that’s where HudMo gets his musical talent from.
