Turns out T-Swizzle really did approve Kanye's line on 'Famous'

UPDATE

Taylor Swift has, indeed, responded. Unsurprisingly, she’s not changing her tune and it doesn’t look her and West (or Kim, for that matter) will be trying to smooth things over any time soon. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That moment when Kanye West secretly records your phone call, then Kim posts it on the Internet.

Well, well, well. Almost six months removed from the release of Kanye West’s latest album The Life of Pablo, the controversial Taylor Swift lyrics on album track ‘Famous’ are back in the news again via West’s wife Kim Kardashian and her Snapchat. In the Rihanna-featuring track, Chicago hip-hop legend West references his famous past controversy with Taylor Swift (at 2009’s MTV VMA awards) in the lines, “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/Why? I made that bitch famous/Goddamn, I made that bitch famous.

Following the release of The Life of Pablo earlier this year, Taylor Swift publicly condemned Kanye West’s lines, subliminally referencing West and the lines in her 2016 Grammy Album of the Year acceptance speech. Additionally, a representative of Taylor Swift emerged to offer, “Kanye did not call for approval, but to ask Taylor to release his single ‘Famous’ on her Twitter account. She declined and cautioned him about releasing a song with such a strong misogynistic message. Taylor was never made aware of the actual lyric, ‘I made that bitch famous.’”, in reference to reports that Kanye West had contacted Taylor Swift to approve the controversial lyrics.

Ever the media’s villain, popular opinion came down hard on Kanye West, siding with Taylor Swift despite the insistence of those in West’s camp — including West’s wife Kim Kardashian — that the West quest for approval really occurred. All of that, however, is set to change today, via video footage released on Kardashian’s Snapchat.

Finding Taylor Swift on a loudspeaker phone call with Kanye West, Swift indeed approves the lines as rumoured, being heard saying in the footage, “It’s like a compliment”, before continuing on to praise West for seeking her approval with regards to the lines.

Looks like the jig is up for perennial ‘golden girl’ Taylor Swift, as she scrambles to deal with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s triumphant mic drop. The next question is, how exactly does Taylor Swift (and her PR team) come back from this?

You can watch the ‘Famous’ video below, and keep your eyes peeled for further drama to develop as time goes on.
