So up until about ten minutes ago, I’d never heard a Lana Del Ray track. I’ve seen her name all over the internet, as I’m sure we all have, but I’d never got round to actually checking her music out. But when I heard she’d dropped a new clip featuring herself as Jacqueline Kennedy, and none other than ASAP Rocky as the late John F. Kennedy, I have to say my interest was piqued.
The styling in the seven minute video is amazing, with Lana and ASAP channelling the wholesome preppy innocence of Sixties America that hid the darker aspects of society behind immaculately pressed curtains. I’m still not sold on the music, but visually it’s an amazing piece of work.
