Skepta continues his run of consistently ill releases prior to the drop of his upcoming album Konnichiwa, with a new track that straddles the line between the UK grime and Houston rap scene, seeing London producer Plastician update his 2005 refix of Mike Jones’ ‘Still Tippin”. While Skeps doesn’t go as far as giving out his phone number, he’s chosen to also interpolate the rhyme scheme of Jones’ other hit ‘Back Then’, a certain nod to the grime artist’s newfound success overseas.

The Boy Better Know crew member even speaks on his growing popularity in our neck of the woods too: “now I don’t care what n****s say / I’ve got girls down under tellin’ me that I’m on Triple J / all my n****s on the rise, man / it’s a sad time for the KKK”. As announced earlier last month, Skepta will be visiting our shores hopefully prior to the end of the year; we’ll be sure to let you know when some solid dates from the man himself finally come through.
