Poor Stanley Kirk Burrell AKA MC Hammer. He only ever had two hits 23 years ago, and, aside from being the butt of a number of jokes, hasn’t been relevant since. That said, ‘U Can’t Touch This’ made an absolute truckload of money and he only lost most of it on his post-rap career as a television preacher. After that he had a short-lived cartoon series called ‘Hammerman’ and produced a number of completely forgotten and rather unsuccessful hip hop acts.

His wild and totally irresponsible spending habits have been the subject of media coverage for years, from having to pay out a Texan Christian recording artist (amusingly named Kevin Christian) over the ‘alleged’ theft of ‘Here Comes the Hammer’, to his very public declaration of bankruptcy in 1996 and accusations in 2011 of owing the Feds nearly $800,000 for unpaid taxes in 1996 and ’97.

Now TMZ claims that they obtained court documents that show that Hammer, contrary to his claims on twitter, still hasn’t paid these taxes and owes the princely sum of US$798,033.48.

I’m surprised that he has any money left, but, if anyone knows how much to tap him for; it must be the Feds.
