Heyyalujah. According to OutKast‘s former manager and therefore a seemingly reliable source (fingers crossed), Queen Latifah, the duo are set to start working on a new album real soon.

In a radio interview on The Howard Stern Show, Queen Latifah let the news slip about Andre 3000 and Big Boi’s comeback plans. “They’re chilling… They’re about to work on a new album,” were her words, 10 very important words that have raised our hopes past the point of return.

Latifah’s slip-up could make sense – after all, Andre 3000 and Big Boi have been very active lately. Not only did they reveal via Instagram they’re hanging out like buddies again which made us weep tears of pure nostalgia, but on January 9 the pair announced they would be making their live reunion to headline this year’s Coachella lineup before embarking on a huge 40-date world festival tour as a celebration of their 20 year anniversary. Yes – it’s been two decades since OutKast’s 1994 debut album, Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, and if that doesn’t make you feel old, it’s been 10 years since they went on hiatus in 2004. Time is a thing that happens, you guys.

Let’s hope this rumour is true. If not, we all know who to blame. I mean no pressure or anything, Queen ‘Latif.
