Premiere: Big Words Take Self Reflection To A New Level On ‘TTYDTM’

The Melbourne lads deliver on the theatrics, keytars, and Oscar-worthy facial acting.

Big Words are no strangers to theatrics. The group, led by Melbourne genre-deniers Will Scullin and Kieren Lee, have developed a talent for executing off-kilter concepts to accompany their music. Last year, they hosted an immersive series of sold out shows at the Abbotsford Convent, transforming the space for a performance that sat somewhere between a cute indie concert and a creepy cult ritual. And it actually worked, given the band has developed a cult-like following in their home city with shows often becoming full blown sing-alongs.

Following up from a big 2018, the band has returned with ‘TTYDTM’ and an accompanying visual that’s as extra as we’d hoped, with an entwined narrative inspired by the idea of having past and present versions of oneself. Will Scullin explains “It’s basically a very dramatic vision of me getting over someone. The clip represents me feeling like I overcame a break up, slowly but surely I transformed into being confident again through this satirical vision.”
