In an interview in the first edition of recently rebranded British music magazine NME, cover girl Rihanna opened up about her plans for eighth studio album R8 — as well as providing her thoughts a range of topics including feminism, life in the public eye, the BBHMM video clip, and Taylor Swift.
Speaking about her upcoming album R8, RiRi said the album was currently unfinished, and would remain so until she and Kanye West’s schedules aligned, and they could get some time in the studio.
“We just have to wait to get back in the studio together,” she said. “His schedule and mine are totally opposite right now, but I think this month we’ll be back in the studio.”
Rihanna also spoke about why she isn’t keen to join fellow pop megastar Taylor Swift for an onstage collaboration.
“I don’t think I would. I just don’t think it makes sense,” she said. “I don’t think our brands are the same, I don’t think they match, I don’t think our audiences are the same. In my mind she’s a role model, I’m completely not.”
