Celebrating Melbourne’s resilient artists, and live music’s unique ability to connect, heal, and unite, The Operatives are back at it again to present the world-debut of SQUARE UP. A first of its kind performance featuring some of Melbourne’s most essential musicians, DJs and visual artists to push the boundaries of the live music scene in a multi-genre and multi-layered performance.

Taking place at iconic Melbourne live music venue The Forum on Friday, May 14th, you’re invited to witness SQUARE UP, featuring a unique, custom-built stage that allows for overlapping and collaborating of multiple artists at any one time — it’s a brand new way for artists to collaborate on the fly and in a live setting. The stage will be additionally brought to life with an original visual and laser show. It’s the first showcase of its kind that is set to showcase 100% Victorian artists on one of Melbourne’s most iconic stages.

Showcasing the diversity in Melbourne’s world-class music scene, the SQUARE UP line-up boasts soul, hip-hop, RnB, Grime, dancehall, jazz, house, techno, drum n’ bass and more across its soundtrack, featuring sets from Victoria’s most exciting new artists, the first chance for many of them to perform off-screen since 2019 and a welcome return to an iconic dance floor.

The lineup includes:
Akosia,
Amin Payne, Billy Davis, Blush’ko, c000kie, Dallas Woods, Diem, Denzel M, Emma Volard, Fly Boy Jack, Fraksha, Hancoq, Ijale, Invictus Quartet, Jaal, Jaydean, Jordan Dennis, Khiarra, Kye, Sophiya, That Kid Maz, Vetta Borne, Yung Shogun + DJs Swerv, Kaira Cuvee, Nam and visuals by Isaiah Morris.
