Coachella has really proven itself as the place to be (yet again) this year. The bill on its own was a pretty impressive one but you always know there are going to be surprises when the dates finally roll around. So far, some of our favourite artists have brought out more of our favourite artists to boost their respective sets but this weekend was definitely a special one for those at Ice Cube’s stage. Having brought out some of the surviving NWA members last week, Cube managed to convince Dr Dre to grace the stage with the others for some performance time. Unfortunately there weren’t any renditions of actual NWA songs but it was still a treat for the fans to see the group vibing off the crowd’s energy.
Keeping the West Coast theme alive, Cube also enlisted the help of one of today’s most influential rap voices, Kendrick Lamar. And with an audience this big, it didn’t make sense not to perform his fans’ adopted protest song ‘Alright’. You can catch some of the action in the fan-shot videos above.
