Heaven has heard your prayers and sent a beacon of shining light down to earth. That’s right folks, after months of speculation the Tupac Shakur biopic finally has a release date. All Eyez On Me will be released this year on June 16, which is the late rapper’s birthday.

According to TheWrap, a release date was finally announced following Lionsgate signing on to become the distributor.

The new release date continues the theme of marking Pac anniversaries. The latest trailer for the highly-anticipated film dropped last year on September 13, exactly 20 years since the legendary rapper’s untimely death.

All Eyez on Me has also drawn anticipation for lead actor – newcomer Demetrius Shipp Jr’s – unearthly resemblance to the famous West Coast MC.

While this is big news, the above release date has only been confirmed for the US. Release dates for other countries – including Australia – are yet to be announced. Either learn to be patient or start saving up for that mid-year holiday.
