Lupe Fiasco has recently premiered the video for his thought-provoking single B*tch Bad. The track, which is set to appear on his upcoming Food & Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album Pt. 1, explores the long-term psychological effects of the word ‘bitch’ though an interwoven narrative of a boy and girl who are exposed to the degrading language from a young age, and offers some hope that there might one day be a cross-gender, cross-generational dialogue about hip-hop’s overarching misogyny. “Even if we don’t come to a definition about it, even if we don’t come to an agreement about it…it’s definitely something that I think we should talk about because it’s so prevalent in our culture right now”, says Lupe.
