After Kendrick Lamar claimed to be the rap king of New York last week in his verse Control, the question on everyone’s lips was who would be game to respond? By choosing to name who he named, Kendrick was establishing his own contemporary rap canon and a group he considers his primary rivals and equals. Many of the high-profile rappers laughed the whole thing off on social media but it seems A$AP Ferg wants to weigh in on the whole affair,  questioning Kendrick’s right to compare himself to 2Pac, adding “I will fucking Ja Rule you, boy.”
