Anderson .Paak and The Free Nationals stopped by KCRW’s studio’s in Santa Monica to perform a couple of his anthems from his latest album Malibu. He didn’t just go into a studio and play some songs though—if you close your eyes, the renditions are pretty flawless but then you don’t get to witness Anderson tear up the studio with his dance moves. And you’ll want to watch them. They’re not the average ‘sprinkler’ or ‘disco eyes’ moves, these are the kind that have effortless fluidity and breathe with his music. They will make you double take and rewind in awe of how good an overall performer .Paak really is. Meanwhile, midway through ‘Am I Wrong’ he leaves out Schoolboy’s verse and walks over to the drums to belt out fills and rhythms and delivers the rest of his vocal performance from behind the drums. I think I might need jaw replacement surgery.
