Former Nickelodeon starlet Ariana Grande and PBR&B king The Weeknd performed a captivating rendition of ‘Love Me Harder’ on Saturday Night Live over the week(e)nd, proving that you can still keep audiences engaged in a pop performance without twerking.

The former cruise ship singer clearly enjoyed herself with the Weeknd’s Abel Tesfaye, dancing, laughing and eventually hugging him despite his next-level hair almost eating her several times throughout the show. It’s hard to imagine that sort of chemistry not spilling into the backstage – a heartbreaking thought for the bae’s many watchers.
