Pharrell Williams’ career has only ever known one direction: steadily upwards. Building on the bedrock of his runaway career as one half of The Neptunes, he’s explored being successful in a range of formats. He’s played the role of band frontman (N.E.R.D.), and he’s been a solo performer. (He admits disappointment in debut LP In My Mind, but surely takes solace in the fact that current single ‘Happy’ is demolishing the charts.) On top of this, he’s been featured on more huge singles (‘Get Lucky’, ‘Blurred Lines’ are recent examples) than you’ve had hot breakfasts. In short, Pharrell is a universally adored Renaissance Man and possible vampire. (I mean, the guy simply does not show any signs of ageing.)
Catch Pharrell at Future Music Festival in Sydney (March 8), Melbourne (March 9) and Adelaide (March 10). You can grab tickets online.
