Considering his initials are short for Young Gangsta and he’s the artist behind songs like ‘Toot It and Boot It’ and ‘Bitches Ain’t Shit’, Cali rapper YG was putting forward an uncharacteristically conscious message in this forgotten 2012 track. Now, we’re all for preaching positivity and stamping out society’s ills, especially after Kendrick’s latest effort, but not if you’re going to be this corny about it.

This song was a part of the soundtrack to an unsuccessful Mario Van Peebles indie movie (it’s been a long slide down since New Jack City), which is apparently a comedy despite the fact that this video couldn’t be more heavy-handed if it tried. The video features our hero YG wandering around his school and being appalled by the thuggish behaviours he sees, which is made clear to the audience with a number of awkward, too-long glances directly at the camera.

The latter half of the video sees YG walk in on Snoop Dogg and Friday’s Deebo to very disapproving looks which probably reflects the reaction he’d get for making such a lame song now. All that said, after My Krazy Life (albeit an album filled with Blood gang references), I think we can forgive this one – much like we forgave Big Sean for this ridiculous anti-drug/safe-sex PSA.
