Since the release of the first teaser trailer for the upcoming Tupac Shakur biographical film, All Eyez On Me (named after the Tupac album of the same name), anticipation has been sky high for the biopic and its expected September 2016 release.

Fans, however, will have to wait a little longer to feast their eyes on the Benny Boom-directed film in its entirety, with reports that the film’s release has been delayed to later in the year over issues with clearance to use Tupac track ‘Ambitions Az A Ridah’.

According to TMZ, rapper Daz Dillinger—a Tupac collaborator with production credits on the All Eyez On Me album track—has claimed that he has rights to the track, while BMG Rights Management maintain that they are the sole owners of the song’s rights. Dillinger further claims that he is owed $75,000 by the company, reportedly stalling the film’s release until November of this year, before which time the filmmakers hope to settle the dispute.

Daz Dillinger, however, took to his Instagram to refute the claims that he was the one holding up the film’s production, as well as offering it praise as “the greatest movie of all time”.

Whatever the case, for now Tupac fans only have the minute-long teaser trailer for All Eyez On Me to fill their appetites (which is certainly enough to flaunt lead actor Demetrius Shipp Jr’s uncanny resemblance to the late hip-hop legend), as well, of course, as Tupac’s extraordinary music catalogue.
