Akomplice Clothing have just announced their latest capsule collection which aims to promote a good cause. ‘Stand with Standing Rock’ is a new line of tees, long-sleeves and hoodies, with 100% of profits going to efforts protesting the Dakota Access Pipeline at Standing Rock in North and South Dakota.

According to a press release from Akomplice, profits will be donated “to help fortify and winterize the Standing Rock camps as well as to buy food and kitchen supplies for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe”. Akomplice co-founder, Patrick Liberty says “It is time to unify and stand together with the original Americans to protect the water that gives us all life.”

Yesterday, the US Army approved the final permits for the oil pipeline after the Trump administration announced it would hasten the project.

This comes following an order by the Obama administration in December of last year to delay construction and instead review tribal concerns and establish an environmental study of the area.

According to the director of the Indigenous Environmental Network, Tim Goldtooth, the local Sioux tribe and other indigenous groups have had little input in the recent decision, and that President Trump should expect “mass resistance”.

The ‘Stand with Standing Rock’ collection is now available at the official Akomplice Webstore.
