If you hadn’t already been swimming in nostalgia, mainly due to the rise of Pokemon and the re-emergence of Blink182 (what?), we have another curveball for you: Nike are continuing their revival of one of the quintessential sneakers of the ’90s – the Air More Uptempo.
With whispers of the style’s comeback building for over a year, the previous release was a decidedly fresh take on the old classic. The latest remix of the Air More Uptempo is inspired by Scottie Pippen; it’s a throwback to 1996 and a homage to the basketball player’s contribution to ’90s American basketball. The shoe is designed by Wilson Smith, this time including Pippen’s number 8 stitched on the heel. The “Air” brand remains as iconic, and bold, as ever.
If you’re keen to get your hands on a pair (and I know you are), they’ll be available from on Nike’s SNKRS app from July 20. You can get the app from the App Store or Google Play Store. Check the shoes out in the gallery above.
