It’s that time of the year! Welcome to the CARBON 2013 survival guide. Here is all the information that you need to know in order to make your CARBON experience memorable. We’re excited to be bringing such a prestigious line-up of inspirational individuals to Melbourne for such an amazing event – and we want to make sure that you have the best time possible at this year’s festivities.

If you’re reading this and you haven’t yet bought tickets – easy, just jump right here, purchase, and jump back.

TICKETING PROCEDURE

To ensure smooth entry to CARBON 2013 please make sure that you have printed a physical copy of your online ticket purchase, and ensure that you have a valid form of photographic identification on you.

We’d encourage all CARBON attendees to make sure that they’ve presented their ticket for registration at RMIT’s Storey Hall by 11am on the first day of forums. Once you’ve made your way to the lobby there will be food options available from LBD and coffee courtesy of Four Rascals.

MERCHANDISE

This year we’ve created some exclusive merchandise that will be available to purchase in the Storey Hall lobby. From limited edition CARBON x New Era Snapbacks, Mark Drew x CARBON x Burton t-shirts, and exclusive prints from DABS MYLA, INSA, Does, Mark Drew, and Will Robson-Scott – we’ve got you covered.

The first hundred people to make a purchase from our official merchandise stand will receive an exclusive poster by Martha Cooper and a Yamamoto Industries x CARBON iPhone skin.

SIDE EVENTS

STYLE WARS 30th ANNIVERSARY SCREENING – PRESENTED BY IRONLAK

Friday 12th April

As part of the CARBON festivities we will be hosting the world premiere screening of the digitally re-mastered version of Henry Chalfant and Tony Silver’s 1983 masterpiece Style Wars. Chalfant will be personally introducing the screening, providing some insight into the seminal work.

Only CARBON ticket holders have access to this very special event, but please note that due to venue capacity, seating numbers are very limited. Attendees will be seated on a first come, first served basis, please arrive early to avoid disappointment. Attendees will be required to have their names checked off of the CARBON ticket guest list as proof of purchase, so please bring a valid photo ID. Complimentary refreshments will be available courtesy of Brooklyn Brewery.

ADIDAS ORIGINALS PRESENTS ‘COLLIDERSCOPE’

Saturday 13th April

adidas Originals have teamed up with CARBON to present a one of a kind, multi-dimensional event. Join us for performances by SWICK (Mad Decent), BAMBOO MUSIK DJs and ANDRAS FOX – alongside visuals from ENESS, GEOFF LILLEMON, and GRACE TANG. This is an experiential odyssey that won’t be repeated, so don’t miss out.

All CARBON ticket holders have access to the event, but due to venue capacity limitations it’s highly recommended attendees arrive early to ensure entry. This event will fill out! All ticket holders will be required to present their CARBON wristband as proof of purchase, alongside photographic identification.

Please note that this is an 18+ event.

SNEAKER FREAKER SWAP MEET PRESENTED BY NEW ERA

Sunday 14th of April
10am – 5pm

Melbourne Central

Level Two Link Bridge

Sneaker Freaker magazine along with New Era present one of their world famous swap meets as a part of CARBON festival 2013. Whether you’re strictly into kicks, or you have a penchant for snapbacks, streetwear or vintage, this market will have you sorted for all your buying, selling and trading needs.

Located just across the road from the forums at Melbourne Central’s Link Bridge space, on level 2 of the Swanston Street centre. CARBON festival attendees can easily pop in before the forums commence on Sunday or head over for a bite and browse during the lunch break.

TRANSPORT INFORMATION

BY TRAIN
All metropolitan train lines running through the City Loop run through Melbourne Central Station. Exit via Swanston Street for an easy 5 minute walk to Storey Hall.

BY TRAM
Take any tram running along Swanston Street up to The State Library, and hop off at stop #8. Trams number 64, 3, 5, 1, 67, or 16.

BY UBER
Uber is the simplest, safest and most reliable way to get around Melbourne. Download the free Uber app for your smartphone (for iPhone or for Android) and create a profile. Whenever you need to get somewhere, just open the app, request a car and in minutes a luxury ride will show up and have you on your way.

Get free Uber during CARBON
If you’re a CARBON ticket-holder, you’ll receive an Uber card when you arrive at the festival. This entitles you to two free Uber rides, available to new riders who create an Uber account with the unique code on the card.

If you’re already an Uber rider, then you have the perfect gift to pass on to friends and family who haven’t used Uber before.

These free rides are available for use until the end of May.
