In 1996, Michael Jordan gave a special commemorative jacket based on the film to the co-producer of the Space Jam soundtrack,  Rashad “Ringo” Smith (and presumably to a number of other people as well). We can’t find out what happened to it, but Ringo wanted a new ‘updated’ version so he handed the project over to the bespoke design genius Rav Matharu, at Clothsurgeon.

Matharu reworked the jacket into a Jordan XI ‘Space Jam’ colourway varsity jacket, with a number of touches from the iconic sneakers and the film. The woven blue acrylic/merino mix herringbone captures the colour and zig-zag sole of the kicks, while the sneaker’s simple black and white colours are replicated in the jacket’s sleeves and chest. The lining is digitally printed with images from the film, and there is even a picture of Mike on the inside of the invisible zip pocket on the sleeve.

Sadly the jacket isn’t for sale.
