With the release of the first image of the shoes circling the internet it’s clear these babies are set for a sell out. True to Margiela’s minimal aesthetic, the shoe’s inconspicuous, all white palette celebrates the concept of unbranded branding. However Margiela’s touch is not lost completely, although the shoe looks to be simply coated in a layer of white paint – there is an expression of texture with visible cracking that alludes to Margiela’s penchant for making the details and not the overall product the hero.
The collab features the Chuck Taylor high-top and the low-top Jack Purcell, and are rumoured to be retailing at a price point of around $200.
Who would have thought plain white shoes would be so covetable?
