Eddie Huang—restauranteur, chef , writer, and TV host—is now furthering his creative outlets to the realm of streetwear (finally). For the uninitiated, Eddie’s hugely entertaining food/travel series sees him trying out the weird and wonderful foods, as well as exploring more serious cultural issues, in prime destinations around the world. And in case you hadn’t noticed, Eddie’s outfits very nearly steal focus in each episode and with his love for sneakers, in particular, it’s no wonder sportswear giant adidas picked up Huang for their latest collab.
This isn’t Huang’s first foray into the world of sneakers, as he previously worked with the ‘other side’, teaming up with Nike SB to create the Chairman Bao Dunk High Pro. The adidas collab will highlight Huang’s passion for food and travel, with the first style teased on Instagram yesterday, which consists of a pair of Eddie’s favoured slides, imprinted with a world map. Another photo also displayed a slick pair of all-black Superstars (on a silver platter, no less) which is obviously pretty sweet to rock on the street but is also conveniently perfect for the restaurant owner’s staff to rep in the kitchen.
The full collab will set into motion on October 8. Watch this space.
