World, meet Teff, or as she prefers, teff, the don. This stylin’ girl and newest friend to Haute Thing is slowly but surely taking over the interwebs with her big ideas and confident style spreading across Tumblr, Flickr, YouTube, Lookbook and the like. Teff believes in the importance of individuality, and not giving in to banality. A student of psychology, and a self-described expressionist, Teff ain’t your average Tumblr girl. Read below as we pick her brains on the topic of men’s fashion.

What’s your name?
Stephanie Nnamani, but I’d rather teff, the don.

How old are you?
23 years old.

What kinda style do you like on guys?
I am incredibly fond of a harmonious blend of urban, yet refined. I like someone, who like me, revels in the spontaneity of it all – doesn’t necessarily fit into a category. I like boldness, too: someone who doesn’t shy away from playing with texture, colour and/or pattern.

What are some things guys should just never wear?
Um, material-wise? I’d say surf gear as casual wear. That aspect of the ’90s simply should not return.

What are some current trends that you think guys need to ditch?
Dying of the hair – especially blonde. Like most things, it’s just not for everyone, y’know.

What are some things, in your opinion, that never get old in men’s fashion?
A fine, tailored suit. Italian cut, preferably.

What do you think it says about a guy if he’s always in sneakers?
That he enjoys comfort? It depends on what sort of sneakers he favours, honestly. And, how he goes about styling ‘em.

You meet a hot guy with bad dress sense. Deal breaker?
Probably, yeah. Mainly because it’s indicative that he has a poor sense of self-care, which implies that if he doesn’t have proper grooming etiquette towards himself, he won’t have it towards me, either. Besides, presentation is paramount.

Guy dresses really well, but still lives with his parents. Deal breaker?
No. Ha! My last boyfriend actually still lives with his parents and I saw nothing wrong with him. So long as he’s not heavily reliant on them to get on on a day-to-day basis.

Guy spends more money on clothes than you do. Deal breaker?
Hm. Not at all. If he’s entirely financially capable, then why not?

Who is a guy who you think personifies good style?
The tie is between my father and my last boyfriend. But if I had to say someone who’s well-known, I’d say Nicholas Wooster.

Groomed guys or scruffy guys, who do you prefer?
I likes the scruff. It’s like getting a cinnabon and they secretly slab on extra icing. Or, finding money in the pocket of your favourite coat.

Finish these sentences:

Every guy should own a good… heart.

Camo print is… necessary when it’s not overdone.

Guys who wear caps are… cool in my book.

On a first date a guy should wear… his wallet. Ha!

Guys who wear luxury brands are… cool, just so long as they’re not defined by it. Your quality should add volume to the garment, not the other way around.

Graphic tshirts on guys are… cool, but it depends.

Beards on guys are… scrumptious-looking when properly groomed.
