Almost six months ago, Jeremy Scott‘s Fall/Winter 2013 collection immediately drew criticism for the remarkable resemblance to past designs of iconic skate brand Santa Cruz Skateboards. Now a settlement has finally been reached between the two parties with Scott agreeing not to produce or manufacture any of the offending items, although there has been no comment from either side on whether or not a financial agreement had been reached.

“I regret that certain pieces of my February 2013 Fall Winter fashion line incorporated imagery that was similar to images owned by NHS and Messrs. Phillips,” reads Scott’s official statement. “I now recognize my mistake and out of respect to their work and their rights, the clothing and handbags at issue will not be produced or distributed.”

Moral of the story: never copy someone else’s work. If you’re that low at least be subtle – that’s a skill you should’ve picked up in grade 3 math class.
