They say you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but it seems designer Jean Touitou is willing to contest this presumption. His classically cool French brand A.P.C. celebrates its 25th birthday with a seriously modern collaboration as Nike continues to broaden its design methodology and align themselves with notable fashion designers in order to champion humble sneakers as true icons of style.

The French designer has refashioned the classic Nike Dunk and Nike Air Max 1, incorporating A.P.C’s signature clean lines and military colour schemes. The design is simple and sophisticated with all the comfort of your typical Nike kick and combines premium leather and suede with natural rubber outsoles. Especially noticeable in the design is the way the iconic Nike tick fades into the lush suede fabric.

This is no doubt an interesting meeting of the minds, as Touitou is famous for quiet and gentlemanly apparel while Nike celebrates colour and clamour. What has resulted in a sneaker you could definitely wear to a formal event which is pretty much a dream come true.
