Supra have been branching out a stack of late. They’ve recently launched a luggage line, a running shoe and now a women’s division. Their recent collaboration with Kerin Rose probably should have been a pointer to this happening in hindsight.

The debut collection for women, has seen Supra recontextualise some of their iconic silhouettes with new girly bright colorways, and materials like glitter, animal prints patterns which no doubt appeal to the younger end of the demographic but probably polarize girls into kicks who generally have beef with female-specific colourways. Interestingly though the shoes have been redesigned in terms of fit for women. According to Matt Fontana, Supra Global Vice President of Brands, ” SUPRA is a brand that was created in consideration of, and respect for, the consumer.” Whether or not the market will respond will be interesting to see.
