Footwear News held their 2015 Achievement Awards overnight, honouring the best in footwear of the past year. Obviously, the main event is the Shoe of the Year award and this time, it was made even bigger, with the recipient being Kanye West’s Yeezy Boost. Of course, Ye was there to accept the award and, seeing as this is the kind of recognition he’s been ranting about for years, he had a lot to say once he hit the podium—yes, pretty much the whole 20-minute clip is Yeezy talking. Just to give you an indication, he starts off with a rehash of the infamous stage-crashing of Taylor Swift in 2009 (fortunately, Ye didn’t encounter any such interruptions this time) and basically chronicling his eventful journey to eventual sneaker success. Whatever your opinion of the Boosts, you can’t deny the lines of people still waiting to buy every single drop—there’s a lot for Kanye to smile about now.
