Aside from, we can assume, boobs and strategic use of hashtags, a recent study has found photos that are predominantly blue in colour get the most likes on Insta. Precisely, 25 percent more Likes than red or orange tinted shots. Apparently this study was intended for commercial users of Instagram who are now trying to woo users with advertisements but, whatever. Other findings that can add to maximising your selfie potential; a preference for images that are dominated by a single colour hue but with a low saturation (0-15 percent), lighter images, pics that feature heaps of background space, and images with a high degree of texture. So far this sounds like a lot of work, but give it a month and there will probably be an app for this.

Something that is not explicitly outlined, but is suggested in these findings, is that #inspirational screenshots of quotes written in the notes section of your iPhone are not going to get you likes unless they are held up in front of a well lit, ocean landscape.
