It looks like Drake doesn’t like to be reminded of the days he used to play shows for sums under six figures (embarrassing tbh). Back in 2009 he agreed to have filmmakers shoot footage at a show in his home town of Toronto, accepting $15,000 and a 15% cut of projected profits in return.

Earlier this week, as the footage was set to resurface in ‘Homecoming’ a documentary detailing the OVO frontman’s come-up, Drizzy stepped up to denounce the project, separating himself entirely from the film under the guise of #protectingthefans.

Unsurprisingly Specticast, the company responsible for Homecoming’s distribution aren’t rapt that the film now looks unauthorised and are suing the rapper, alleging the tweets were a promotional strategy for ‘OVOFest’, which the he tweeted about in between calling out the filmmakers.

This is all probably small woes for @champagnepapi who reportedly played a show in Dubai for $1.7 million last week, but then he has taken the time to tweet about it. At least catching a lawsuit makes a change from catching feelings.
