Takashi Murakami opened his new exhibition Flowers and Skulls at the Gagosian Gallery in Hong Kong yesterday. Featuring a series of paintings of skulls and flowers, Murakami explores the dichotomy of joy and terror.

The centrepiece, Murakami-Ego, is inspired by the Tokhoku earthquake and is over 100 meters long.
