It seems New York is panicked over ‘The Liberator’, a 3D printed gun made of ABS plastic and a nail used as the firing pin. City Councilman Lew Fidler plans to introduce a bill laying out rules for the firearms that can be churned out on a 3D printer and easily assembled. The law would require anybody making 3D printed weapons to have a gunsmith permit and require that NYC born 3D printed weapons have identification numbers on them for registration purposes.

We’re just wondering how the hell they are going to enforce this one – keep a list of potentially dangerous 3D printers?
