Street artists and frequent collaborators, The Yok and Sheryo invited Animal New York into their ‘make shift’ Brooklyn home studio for a peek at what they get up to. The duo are have made a name for themselves with works like trippy hand-painted ceramics and a style that remixes Chinese folklore with skateboard and graffiti culture.
“We wanted to paint our stories. There’s references to spray painting, hanging out in Brooklyn, getting your bike wheels stolen…”
Their studio is exactly how you’d expect it to be. Walls filled with sketches, half-developed canvases in every room and ceramics waiting to be painted. Working together and travelling together, their adventures are combined into every detail of their work.
This video is a really sweet insight into their creative inspiration and shared life.
